Madonna Super Bowl Halftime …how I would do it
February 2nd, 2012 at 8:57 pm by leotheweblionOk, so the pressure is on for the Material Girl to deliver an awe-inspiring performance in this upcoming Super Bowl. Is she going to pull through? Is she going to le suck? Will she be doing some of her new stuff?
Be-tee-dubs, I’m not a fan of the new stuff aka “Give Me All Your Luvin”…I feel like it doesn’t suit her. It reminded more of that one girl Nicola Roberts. I kind of feel like this should have been Nicola’s song and not Madge’s but hey, that’s just me. #myOpinionOkrr
Sidenote:just read somewhere that she’ll be doing 3 old songs and here new song…blegh
Ok, so basically I’m writing this to tell you guys what I would do if I were Madonna this weekend, and let’s face it, I know enough people that do drag that this could totally happen, but anyways back to what’s important. If I were Madonna this weekend at the Super Bowl here’s how I would do it.

Random thoughts & review for Rupaul’s Drag Race Season 4 Episode 1 “RuPocalypse Now!”
January 31st, 2012 at 6:08 pm by leotheweblionRandom thoughts of tonight’s RuPaul’s Drag Race episode 1 mixed with Untucked. WARNING….THERE WILL BE SPOILERS (feel free to weigh in)
1. I didn’t like Jiggly at first but she grew on me after this episode. I did NOT appreciate her complaining about the sewing. Miss ma’am, it IS the 4th season so why would this season not have sewing in it? Did you learn nothing from Shangela?!
2. Willam….stop it! All of that talk and name dropping makes him seem insecure. I didn’t like any of that one bit.
3. Sharon, you is cray cray, you is sick, you is FEARCE (<—yes, spelled like that) I died with the post-apocaloptic – lol @lashauwnBeyond – outfit and the blood…it was soo different but soo sickening.

If you’re a man and want to turn me off please do the following

Be ever so boisterous about how much everything you’re wearing cost, about the amount of famous people you know, and about how you only shop at Millenia because you wouldn’t be caught dead at the FL mall. (Unless you have these famous people on your phone, or one of them is Meryl Streep I don’t give a shit)
2. Smoke. A pack or two a day, hell why not three. Engulf yourself in its amazing aroma and then invite me to smell it with you and possibly taste it in your mouth. I’d love nothing more than to lightly tickle my taste buds with the remnants of an ash tray…mmmmmmmm.
3. Have the vocabulary of a lobotomized, mentally handicapped, pygmy Papua-new-Guinean chicken (no offense to them, their cluck could sooth a leper but they aren’t the brightest). I’m not a dictionary or grammar guru by any means, nor am I needing you to be privy to every Dickensian character ever, but knowing what “ditto” means is crucial. Also, you’re, your, yore, two, too, to, lose, loose, awe, aw (< --I will even take aww or awwwwwwwww over awe).

Gay Marriage in Washington DC
March 10th, 2010 at 3:31 pm by leotheweblionOk, so I’ve definitely been ignoring the blog. To tell you the truth I’ve just had this complete lack of motivation for ANYTHING in the past month or so. I don’t know what it is, but somehow I think it’s linked to Sarah Palin. Which just a little side note: Really, you’re going to criticize the president for using a teleprompter but then you’re going to write notes on your hand…REALLY?! ugh just makes me mad.

Ok back to what this blog entry is about. A few days ago -the 3rd – gay marriage became legal in non other than our nation’s capital WASHINGTON DC. I’m tres excited for this – yeah I’m gonna go ahead and call it – milestone. So now, if even the capital of the UNITED STATES is on board with this why is the rest of the nation in such a right winged slumber. Don’t get me wrong, as an open-minded individual I always like to listen to both sides of the argument but I seriously have yet to find anything from the opposing side that “makes sense” to me. Something that would make me go “hmmm, maybe I’m wrong”.
I’m extremely glad that this happened and I hope that with the rest of the nation starts to follow suit. And also, I’m going to start blogging more. It just seems like the right thing to do for humanity ; )

NY Senate Amazingness

It is however so interesting and heart warming to see what some of these senators were saying before they voted YES. The clip I’m about to post shows an amazing woman by the name of Diane Savino who makes some very (although already obvious) great observations about the main reasons people have against gay marriage.

A Rant Concerning Heidi Montag
January 20th, 2010 at 2:03 pm by leotheweblionNow, I understand that by making this post I am actively participating in the whole “making Heidi Montag more famous than she should ever be” club, BUT, I just wanted to rant about something and it’s a Wednesday so I can’t even discuss how much fun Tini Tuesday is going to be. P.s. though, it was a lot of fun. Ok, so apparently Heidi went and had some surgeries (ten to be precise) back in November of 09. She recently came out with her “new face/body” for the world to see. I’m going to actually quote myself in what I posted on my FB:

New Jersey and the Gay Bill Rejection…
January 13th, 2010 at 1:07 pm by leotheweblionAgain, I don’t really get political, but then again I guess this whole gay marriage thing really does give my ears something interesting to listen to. Back in the day I took a class called “Cultural Imperialism”, sounds awesome right? Well it was. At one point we were talking about how some minorities these days are going against different minorities BUT not really taking into consideration that they are doing so and that at one point they were in similar shoes. For example, at the end of this clip -which is HILARIOUS and very informative – a woman says something like:
“…and I myself being a female and being an African American Woman, I once upon a time, my forefathers did not have the right to vote, I didn’t have a say in life, but now I have a right, we have the voice, and I’m so thankful today the same sex issue was rejected.”

The Conservative Case for Gay Marriage
January 11th, 2010 at 2:03 pm by leotheweblionI tend not to get too involved in politics. It often frustrates me at how long it takes for some people to see something so obvious. Then you have your extremists who just take a simple idea and stretch it from here to the nether regions of recently forgotten Pluto. The time and efforts are just too much, so I try to avoid it and rather talk about the effects that Jersey Shore is having amongst our youth.
Anywho, I was very surprised when I logged into my facebook this morning only to find that someone had a link to an article that read “The Conservative Case for Gay Marriage”. I clicked and seriously could not stop reading. Here was this conservative fellow, -Ted Olson – having served under Reagan and W. Bush, joining the case FOR gay marriage. It was definitely something I didn’t expect to read. I felt like maybe if I kept reading then the article would enlighten certain restrictions Nelson had with his argument. Again, I was surprised to see myself, a liberal, agreeing with every single thing this conservative chap was explaining.

Goldfrapp, you complete me

It is amazing in every sense of the word and so I felt the need to write about the brilliance that is Goldfrapp. Lead by the beautiful Alison Goldfrapp, this band mixes a very sensual and drug induced sound with a classic sleek synthesized majesty. The first song I heard from them “Deer Stop” is to date on of the weirdest songs I’ve ever heard. Some of the lyrics include but are not limited to
